Overview
Configure Payouts lets your site receive payments for paid Allspice products, including paid meal plans, one-time purchases, and subscriptions.
Allspice uses Stripe Connect to securely collect payments, verify your business or personal payout information, and send earnings to your bank account. Stripe handles the secure onboarding flow, bank account collection, identity verification, and payout dashboard.
Where to find this setting
In the Allspice Portal, go to:
Meal Plans → Products
If payouts are not connected yet, you will see a message like:
Click Connect payments to begin Stripe onboarding.
Once your account is connected, the portal will show:
- Payments connected
- Charges enabled · Payouts enabled
You can then click Manage on Stripe to open your Stripe Express Dashboard.
Why this is required
If you want to publish paid products, Allspice needs a secure way to send your share of sales to you.
Payout setup is required for:
- One-time paid meal plans
- Paid product bundles
- Recurring subscriptions
Payout setup is not required for:
- Free products
- Allspice Premium products
- Draft meal plans
Paid products will remain in draft or unavailable for purchase until Stripe has finished verifying the information required for your account.
How revenue is split
For paid meal plan and product sales, payouts are handled automatically through Stripe Connect.
The standard split is:
- 90% to the publisher
- 10% to Allspice
This split is calculated after Stripe/payment processing fees.
Example: A reader buys a $20 meal plan.
- Stripe/payment processing fees are deducted first.
- The remaining net amount is then split: 90% to the publisher, 10% to Allspice.
The exact processing fees and net amount can vary by transaction. You can review payment activity, fees, transfers, and payouts in your Stripe Express Dashboard.
For broader revenue-share details, see Revenue sharing. For creating and selling plans, see Meal plan products.

Where to view revenue and payout information
You can use both Allspice and Stripe to monitor sales.
In Allspice
Allspice may show product and performance statistics, including paid product activity, meal plan performance, and purchase-related reporting.
Use Allspice for product-level context, such as:
- Which products are live
- Which meal plans are attached to products
- Which products are getting engagement
- How product performance compares across your content
In Stripe
Stripe is the source of truth for payment and payout details.
Use Stripe for financial details, such as:
- Completed payments
- Processing fees
- Refunds
- Disputes
- Net earnings
- Upcoming payouts
- Bank account details
- Payout history
- Tax forms, when available
Taxes and tax forms
Stripe may collect tax-related information during onboarding, such as your legal name, business information, taxpayer identification details, and address. Stripe Express connected accounts can also use Stripe Express to manage tax information and, where applicable, view tax forms.
Tax reporting rules can depend on your country, business type, volume, and how payments are processed. Stripe's Connect documentation notes that platforms and connected accounts may have tax information reporting responsibilities depending on the Connect setup and transaction type.
Allspice cannot provide tax advice. You should consult your tax advisor about how paid product revenue should be reported for your business.
What information should I use?
Use the same legal/business information you normally use for payment processing and tax reporting.
- If your site is operated by a company: Use the company's legal business information.
- If your site is operated by an individual: Use your personal legal information as requested by Stripe.
- For payouts: Use the bank account where you want product earnings deposited.
Do not enter another person's tax or bank information unless they are authorized to receive payments for your site.
Do I need my own Stripe account?
You do not need to manually create a separate Stripe account before starting.
When you click Connect payments, Allspice starts a Stripe Express onboarding flow for your site. If you already have the relevant Stripe access, Stripe may let you continue with existing information.
Can I sell products before payouts are configured?
Free products can be published without payout setup.
Paid one-time products and subscriptions require payment setup before they can go live. This protects both you and buyers by making sure payments and payouts are properly configured before purchases begin.
How payouts work after a buyer purchases
When a reader buys a paid product:
- The reader checks out securely through Stripe.
- Stripe processes the payment.
- Stripe/payment processing fees are deducted.
- The remaining net amount is split automatically.
- Your publisher share is paid to your connected Stripe account.
- Stripe pays out to your connected bank account based on your payout schedule.
You can view the transaction and payout details in Stripe.
Refunds and disputes
Refunds, failed payments, and disputes may affect your earnings and payout balance.
If a payment is refunded or disputed, Stripe and Allspice may adjust the related entitlement, purchase record, and payout accounting. Stripe remains the best place to review the financial details of refunds, disputes, fees, and payout adjustments.
