Roadmap

What we're building

Major work in progress, what's next, and planned directions. We ship continuously and incorporate publisher feedback.

Overview

Allspice is built as a long-term platform for food publishers and creators. We ship continuously, and this roadmap highlights major work currently in progress and what's coming next.

Timelines may shift as we prioritize reliability, performance, and publisher needs. If there's a feature you want prioritized, reach out through the Publisher Portal - we actively incorporate your feedback into roadmap planning.

Now (In Progress)

These items are actively being built and may roll out incrementally.

Ability to purchase premium plans

Publishers will be able to upgrade directly through the Allspice Publisher Portal, with access to premium features like white-labeling, advanced analytics, and priority support.

Revenue sharing payouts & analytics

We're expanding the Publisher Portal to include payout reporting, revenue attribution, and monetization analytics - alongside existing engagement and recipe analytics.

GDPR readiness

We're finalizing GDPR readiness so Allspice can support additional markets and ensure compliance requirements are fully met.

Improved authentication

We're improving authentication across Allspice experiences to support smoother sign-in, better persistence across devices, and a more reliable long-term saved experience for users.

Widget "subtract recipe from pantry" flow

Users will be able to subtract ingredients from their pantry when they cook a recipe, keeping pantry tracking accurate with minimal manual work.

Pico v2.1

Building on Pico v2.0, we're continuing to improve responsiveness, conversational flow, and action-taking ability across recipes, grocery lists, meal plans, and pantry workflows.

Next

These are our next major initiatives after current in-progress work ships.

Social creator pages with searchable recipe libraries

Creators will get hosted pages (ex: myrecipes.allspice.co/<slug>) where users can search the creator's full recipe library and access Allspice functionality in one place.

Better guidance for caching / ad stacks

We're improving our documentation, onboarding checks, and compatibility guidance for common publisher setups (caching plugins, optimization settings, ad providers, and performance tools).

Ad-free experiences with creator-configured pricing

We're building an ad-free model where creators/publishers can set a fee for users to browse and cook without ads, unlocking a high-value premium monetization option.

Deeper ad provider partnerships

We plan to pursue deeper partnerships with major ad platforms to improve compatibility, unlock better outcomes, and support more advanced monetization workflows.

Advanced audience insights

We're expanding the Publisher Portal to include higher-level audience insights (anonymized + aggregated) such as preference trends and engagement breakdowns, built specifically for food publishers.

TIP:

Audience insights will always be designed to protect user privacy and avoid exposing user-level personal data.

Planned

These initiatives are confirmed directions but not yet scheduled for a specific release window.

Publisher groups (cross-site search for multi-site owners / creator networks)

Publishers will be able to create groups that allow users to search and discover recipes across multiple sites, ideal for multi-site owners and creator collaborations.

Paywalled recipe support

We plan to support paywalled recipes and premium content workflows while maintaining the Allspice experience and publisher attribution model.

Paid meal plans

Creators will be able to offer meal plans (free or paid), adding an additional subscription-style monetization tool beyond ads.

Enhanced commerce flows

We're expanding commerce functionality over time, including:

  • more grocery delivery partners
  • improved cart attribution
  • better shopping outcomes and conversion tracking

Feedback & Requests

We build Allspice closely with publisher input. If you want to request a feature or prioritize an existing roadmap item, contact us through the Publisher Portal. The fastest way to influence roadmap priority is to share your use case (what you're trying to accomplish and how success is measured), not just a feature name.
